About Dangote Refinery

Africa's Most Ambitious Infrastructure Project

Dangote Petroleum Refinery is one of the few companies in the world executing a Petroleum Refinery and a Petrochemical complex directly as an EPC Contractor. Globally, only three other individual owners have completed a full EPC contract for a petroleum refinery.

With a refining capacity of 650,000 barrels daily, the facility spans approximately 2,635 hectares and is located in Lagos's Lekki Free Trade Zone.

The project currently employs 30,000 workers, with projections of 100,000 future direct and indirect jobs — a transformative force for Nigeria's economy.

Beyond Investment

The project required 65 million cubic meters of sand filling— costing approximately $300 million — to elevate swamp land by 1.5 meters for climate resilience. This extraordinary feat of engineering underscores the scale and ambition of Africa's largest infrastructure project.
